Simpson Splits First Day with Park

TEMPE, Ariz. - The baseball team looked to keep its seven-game win streak going as they headed to TEMPE, AZ to take on Park-Gilbert University in a three-game set.

The Bucs drew first blood in the bottom of the first inning to grab the early 1-0 lead.

Simpson answered back as they tied the game in the top of the second inning when a leadoff single by Maximiliano Lopez came around to score on a clutch two-out RBI single by Alex Tolbert

But the Bucs jumped on Simpson starter Eric Winchester in the second inning as they platted six runs to chase Winchester in just 1.2 innings of work.

The Bucs plated four more runs in the third inning as they padded its 10-2 lead.

Simpson chipped away as they plated one run in the top of the fourth inning as a double by Tolbert came around to score on a single by Keelan Yagi

Park went on to score three more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it a 14-2 Park lead.

Simpson plated one run in the top of the seventh inning on a Lopez RBI single.

However, Simpson could not plate the required amount of runs to keep the game going as they fell 14-3 in seven innings due to the mercy rule being in effect.

Lopez followed close behind with a two-hit game while driving in one run.

A clutch single by Jaxon Hotta plated Tolbert to make it a 2-1 lead.

However, the Bucs chased Tomas in the third inning as they plated two more runs to make it a 4-1 Park lead.

The Red Hawks roared back as they scored three runs in the fifth, two runs in the sixth inning, and a single run in the seventh to grab the 7-4 lead.

Six hits and five of which were extra-base hits by Jaxon Hotta, Dylan Leek, Maximiliano Lopez, and Titus Sato
