TEMPE, Ariz. - The baseball team entered the day looking to take the rubber match game against Park-Gilbert to earn its fourth consecutive series win.
The Red Hawks did just that and exploded for 14 runs off 17 hits to end the game in a 14-1 mercy rule victory.

The Bucs grabbed the early 1-0 lead in the first inning. But that is all Brogdon surrendered as he followed it up with six shutout innings.
Simpson tied the game in the top of the third inning on a solo shot by
Logan Gomes.
The Red Hawks broke the 1-1 tie in the fifth inning as they plated two runs off two hits and one Park error.
A leadoff single by
Kade Kupihea came around to score on Gomes's second hit of the day, an RBI double in the left-center gap.
Gomes later came around to score on a Park error to give Simpson the 3-1 lead.
But the Red Hawks exploded four seven runs in the top of the sixth inning. The first six batters for Simpson reached base safely.

Chase Rossman and
Jaxon Hotta followed by a
Dylan Leek walk loaded the bases for Kupihea.
Kupihea laced a single into left field to score Rossman and courtesy runner
Andreyes Palacios.
Gomes continued to stay hot as he picked up his fourth hit of the game, an RBI single that scored Leek.
The Red Hawks reloaded the bases and
Micah Kele cashed in two RBIs on a single into left field.
Simpson batted around as Rossman reached base again on a two run single that scored Kele and Lopez.
Up by nine runs heading into the seventh inning, Simpson looked to end the game early.
A four-run inning highlighted by a two-run bomb by
Logan Gomes put the Red Hawks in mercy rule territory.
Brogdon had it going as he cruised through the Park lineup. He allowed just six total base runners while picking up his first win of the year.
He went seven strong innings and punched out 10 Park batters while giving up just one run.
Simpson recorded a season-high 14 runs and 17 hits on the day.
Logan Gomes had a career day as he picked up his first career five-hit game while blasting two long balls and driving in five runs while scoring four more.
Micah Kele picked up a three-hit game that saw him drive in two runs and score two runs.
Kade Kupihea and
Chase Rossman each notched two-hit performances to combine for four RBIs and three runs scored.
With the win, Simpson is scorching hot as they have won 9 out of the last 10 games while winning four consecutive series.
Simpson looks to stay hot as they take on William Jessup in a mid-week nonconference doubleheader on Tuesday.
