Defense Falters in Road Loss to UAV

LANCASTER, Calif. - Simpson allowed a season-high for points against in Cal-Pac Conference play Thursday night in a 98-85 road loss at Antelope Valley. The Pioneers shot 55 percent from the floor and 57 percent from behind the three-point line for the game and moved into a tie for second place in the league with SU with one game remaining in the regular season.

The Red Hawks built a 10-point lead in the first half, but UAV closed the final seven minutes of the stanza on a 25-6 run that gave the Pioneers a 44-35 lead at the intermission. Simpson would not get closer than seven points in the second half.

Jacob Kaler led five Red Hawks in double figures with 25 points. Josh Brakkee finished with 13, Josh Delamarter and Joseph Bosetti each had 11, and Alex Huerta added 10.

The Red Hawks close out the regular season Saturday at LaSierra in a doubleheader with the SU women's team.
