MBB Snaps Skid, Earns Split in SU Christmas Classic

REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson men's basketball team snapped a nine-game losing streak Wednesday with an 84-71 win over New Hope Christian in the final game of the Simpson Christmas Classic at the Heritage Center. The Red Hawks fell Tuesday to nationally-ranked Concordia (Neb.), 74-52.

Jacob Kaler led Simpson in scoring with 16 points. Otar Pkhakadze and Josh Brakkee each contributed with nine points.

SImpson 84, New Hope Christian 71
Simpson bounced back with an 84-71 victory led by Kaler and Brakkee, who each scored 19 points, while Josh Delamarter followed with 12 points. Pkhadadze led the team in assists with six, and Marc Kirkland chipped in with 11 points and five assists.

The Red Hawks will look to continue their winning streak as they face rival William Jessup at home on Saturday, Jan. 2. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
