REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University men's soccer takes on University of Antelope Valley in the first round of the Cal Pac Championship Tournament.

The Red Hawks qualified after going on a four game winning streak to improve to 5-6 and getting some help from top seeded UC Merced taking down La Sierra.

In a must-win game, SU scored the game-winning goal with 14 seconds remaining in the second half of extra time on a clutch header by Jimmy Alvarez.

Coach Caleb Ikwuagwu had his squad in the right mindset for the final four games of the season, "A big theme for us these last few games has been to simply enjoy the game a little bit more while working hard for one another. The guys adopted this mindset and it has reflected in our performance and results," Ikwuagwu said.

As the Red Hawks get geared up to clash with UAV, we take a look at the previous match between the two clubs.

The last loss that Simpson suffered was against the Pioneers on October 18th. However, the Red Hawks are a different team than the last matchup, with four consecutive wins under their belt, Coach Ikwuagwu and his club has more confidence, "As we go into tomorrow's game against Antelope Valley, we stay focused on what has gotten us here; enjoy being there and work hard for each other. If we do that, we'll have a good chance," Ikwuagwu said.

The Red Hawks will keep an eye on Manuel Medina of UAV, who scored a hat trick against Simpson and is likely to be and All-Conference first team member. With the shot differential favoring Antelope Valley back in October, the Red Hawks will look limit the Pioneer's chances at goal and help out their keeper, Nyjel Buchanan.
