Turnovers Costly for MBB in Cal-Pac Opening Loss to Maritime

VALLEJO, Calif. - The two top preseason picks to contend for the Cal-Pac Conference title met in the league opening Thursday for both teams. Simpson committed 22 turnovers and shot just 1-9 from behind the arc in falling at Cal Maritime, 83-66.

Josh Delamarter tallied 16 points, and Joseph Bosetti had 14 and a team-high seven rebounds to lead the Red Hawk effort. Alex Huerta added 10 points off the bench.

The Keelhaulers dominated the glass outrebounding the Red Hawks 42-28 and grabbing 22 offensive rebounds.

Simpson will attempt to get its first win of the conference season Saturday at UC Merced.
