Men's Basketball Loses to Hosts at Corban Invitational

SALEM, Ore. - The Simpson men's basketball team dropped its fourth straight game Friday on the opening night of the Corban Invitational, a 94-69 decision to the host Warriors at the Jeffers Sports Center. Corban led virtually wire-to-wire allowing SU its only lead at 4-2 just a couple minutes into the contest.

Corban dominated the glass in the first half and turned a 26-15 edge in rebounds into a 13-3 advantage in second chance points. The Warriors carried a 42-29 lead into the locker room and the Red Hawks were never able to mount a serious threat to that margin in the second half.

Jacob Kaler recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Marc Kirkland led the team with 15 points and four steals. Joseph Bosetti also reached double figures with 11 points. As a team, the Red Hawks hit just 16 of 28 from the free throw stripe.

Simpson faces Lewis-Clark State in the final day of the tournament on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
