PRESCOTT, Ariz. - The Red Hawks take one game from Embry-Riddle, winning their only game of the road trip.

Simpson had a rough road trip in Arizona playing Ben U, Park-Gilbert, and Embry-Riddle, only to come away with one win out of seven played. 

In game one of the series, Simpson took the lead 5-3 in the top of the 5th inning after Kade Kupihea got on base from an error, scoring a runner. Braxton King hit a double to score Kupihea–putting the Red Hawks up by two. Embry-Riddle fired back in the bottom of the 5th inning, putting up six runs. Embry-Riddle's big inning came from a three-run homer by Drew Barragan. Embry-Riddle scored another six in the 8th, which ended the game 15-5.

Simpson flipped the switch on Embry-Riddle after a solid performance from starting pitcher Connor Caporale. Caporale pitched five innings with two strikeouts and three earned runs. Simpson struck first in the game with a Micah Kele RBI single. The Red Hawks had their big break in the 6th inning. Micah Kele, Andreyes Palacios, and Titus Sato each hit RBI singles to cushion Simpson's lead. SU beat Embry-Riddle 13-5.

In the first inning of the final game, Jaydon Tomas gave up three runs but finished his outing strong, tossing 5.2 innings and giving up only one more run. The Red Hawks scored their three runs on errors committed by Embry-Riddle and lost 4-3.

The Red Hawks play Westcliff at home in a four-game series starting on Saturday, March 25th at 11 a.m. 

It is TBD where Simpson will play their home games due to the rain.
