Box Score 1 |
Box Score 2 OAKLAND, Calif. - Simpson U baseball made the trip to Laney College for a neutral site matchup with Academy of Art University for what was supposed to be a 3-game series. The weather had other ideas with game two halted after Simpson had a 5-3 lead in the 5th inning.
Game two is planned on being continued later in the season along with game three to complete the series. If there is no time to make up the game, Simpson will get the win since Academy of Art had already batted in the top of the 5th.
Simpson's game-one win on Saturday night came off the back of an outstanding pitching performance by
Eric Winchester. He recorded his second win of the season throwing six innings of one-run ball fanning 9 Academy of Art batters.
Senituli Taufahema and
Brady Meeds were the leading hitters on the day for Simpson, each tallying three hits. Taufahema also scored three runs and Meeds finished the day with 2 RBIs. Four other Red Hawks tallied RBIs as well in the impressive 7-1 victory.
The series will be planned to be rescheduled at a later date and the Red Hawks be at home next weekend for the Cal Pac Conference opener against Park-Gilbert. The first game is set for 11 AM on March 4th.
