KLAMATH FALLS, Or. - The men's basketball team opened its 2023-24 season in Klamath Falls, OR at Danny Miles Court to take on Cascade Conference opponent Oregon Tech. 

The Hustlin' Owls picked up its second win of the year as they took down the Red Hawks 93-67.

OIT dominated the first half of play as they went into the break with a 47-33 lead. 

The first half of play for the Red Hawks was led by sophomore guard Drey Ubas who recorded nine points and one assist. 

However, OIT continued to hold the momentum as they closed out the second half in a 46-34 fashion to take the game by the final score of 93-67. 

Senior Akin Branco led the team with 15 points on the night while shooting 50% from the floor. 

Junior transfer Sam Shields led the team with six boards while shooting 6-7 from the court for 12 points. 

The Red Hawks bench showed strong play throughout the game as they outscored OIT's bench 41-29. 

Simpson will look to bounce back this Saturday when they take on Menlo College at home at 6 PM.
