REDDING, Calif. - The men's team opened its 2023-24 season at home against Menlo College. But the Oaks were able to defeat the Red Hawks 82-64.
The first half was won by Menlo as they went into the break with a 33-26 lead.
Jace Mille led the charge in the first half with eight points while going 4-5 from the floor.
Akin Branco had a team-high five boards in the first half to go along with five points.
Menlo kept the momentum in the second half of play as they extended its league and never looked back.
Mills had a solid game in the paint as he recorded a team-high 16 points to go along with four rebounds.
Branco led the team with six rebounds to go along with seven points.
Simpson will look to bounce back this weekend when they take on Portland Bible College this coming Sunday at 1 PM.
