Box Score 3 REDDING, Calif. - Baseball came out strong in Game one, beating Providence Christian 7-3. Offensively, SU dominated and hit well off Providence Christian's pitchers. Sophomore,
Kade Kupihea would go three for three, with one RBI while
Shane Ogata and
Payton Edwards would each hit a two-run homerun.
In Game two, Simpson Baseball would completely shut out Providence, not letting them score at all and would beat them 9-0. Senior, Nate Minami would have a field day offensively, with four hits in five at bats, including one homerun and a double, and three RBIs. While
Micah Kele,
Titus Sato, and
Sam Nakata would all have a pair of hits and an RBI as well. On the mound,
Nate Martinez would have a season high of six strikeouts in only four innings pitched.
However, in Game three, the Sea Beggars battled back, and would end up beating the Red Hawks 11-3, ending SU's hope for a three-game sweep. Even after the game three loss, Simpson Baseball would still end up taking the series against Providence.
Simpson Baseball will host their final series of the year, on their home field this weekend. They will play Benedictine starting Friday at 11 AM and 2 PM, and Saturday at 11 AM.
