Men's Volleyball Records First Program Win Since Resurgence

Box Score REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's volleyball recorded the program's first win since the sports resurgence.

SU competed from 1994-2001 and was resurrected in 2020, but had a limited season due to the pandemic.

The Red Hawks took the court for the first time in 2021 knocking of Pacific Union College in straight sets 25-11, 25-7, 25-11.

SU dominated from the opening serve and recorded a total of 30 kills as a team in the three-set match. Christian Murray led the Red Hawk attack with 10 kills and two solo blocks.

Nikos Kalagasidis had a monster match finishing with seven aces and 27 assists.

The three-set sweep also marks the first win of many to come for head coach David Irving at Simpson University.

SU will be back at home next Friday against Benedictine University as Cal Pac play continues.
