Fallon Greenhaw's bucket in the final minute secured a 2nd place tie in the Cal Pac as Simpson took down UC Merced 68-67.
In a game that almost never was the Red Hawks mounted a comeback for the ages in the fourth quarter of Saturday night's game, outscoring the Bobcats by 6 in the final quarter. Simpsons basketball teams were stuck in traffic and heavy flooding for over 5 hours on their trip down the Merced. The delay caused the women's game to be pushed back to 8:30 pm and the men's game has been rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 10 am.
Senior guard
Esther Wofford led all scorers with 24 points and
Whitney Rodriguez added 15 points and
Fallon Greenhaw contributed 14. The Bobcats were led by Courtney Danna who finished with 14 points and played all but 3 minutes. The Red Hawks finish 10-4 in conference and head into the Cal Pac Championships tied for second place. They take on Benedictine in the first round next Saturday, Febraury 25th.Â
