Red Hawks Record 5th Straight Win

MESA, Ariz. - The Simpson University women's basketball team tallies its fifth consecutive win on the road against Benedictine Mesa, 70-64.

This is the Red Hawks 14th win on the season, the most in 15 seasons and a career high for head coach Derrick Pringle Jr.  Simpson also takes sole command of second place in the California Pacific Conference at 7-2 and has won nine of its last 11 contests.

Simpson jumped out to an early 11-6 lead and never looked back, leading by as much as 22 in the 3rd quarter.  Benedictine outscored Simpson 29-14 in the 4th quarter, but the Red Hawks managed to hold on by knocking down late free throws.

Whitney Rodriguez recorded her 7th double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds.  Fallon Greenhaw tallied 14 points shooting a proficient 5-6 from the field. Imani Joseph cleaned the glass grabbing down 10 boards to go along with five points.

Simpson will head home as they face the top team in the Cal Pac in Antelope Valley on February 2nd at 5:30 pm in the Grant Center.
