SU baseball ends season losing doubleheader at College of Idaho

CALDWELL, Idaho - Simpson baseball team dropped a pair of games to College of Idaho in a NAIA West doubleheader, Sunday afternoon at Wolfe Field.

Game 1 - COI 7, SU 4
 The Yotes on senior day, took an early 3-0 lead, scoring three runs in the second inning. 

The Red Hawks would answer back in the third scoring three runs and tying the game 3-3. Dylan Mumford would reach on a fielder's choice to shortstop allowing Cody Jamerson to score (3-1). Kyle Ferguson would score off a Matthew Kiyota single to left (3-2). Mumford would score on a balk which tied the game 3-3.

College of Idaho would score a total of four runs in the next two innings, three in the fourth and one in the fifth, to increase their lead to 7-3.

Simpson would score one more run in the sixth, when Jamerson hit a single to center which brought home Rath Moseley to cut the lead to 7-4. 

The Yotes would shut out the Red Hawks in the next three innings and secured the victory 7-4.

Ryan Holmes earned the loss, pitching 4.0 innings. Holmes faced 23 batters, giving up three hits and six runs. Kyle Martain pitched 4.0 innings allowing two hits and one run.

George Cecchetti and Jamerson led the Red Hawks in hits, going 2-4 from the plate.

Game 2 - COI 16, SU 0
College of Idaho would take full control of game two, scoring a total of six runs in the first two innings and 10 runs in the fifth and sixth inning, while shutting out the Red Hawks for a 16-0 win.

 Casey Meyer, Humberto Solorio, Dylan Mumford, Ryan King, George Cecchetti and Matthew Kiyota played their final game in a Red Hawk uniform.
