REDDING, Calif. - Simpson won its first two games of three on the day in the final contests of the SU Softball Invitational on Saturday at Big League Dreams. The Red Hawks opened the day upsetting the No. 3 team in the national rankings, Oregon Tech, 6-1. Simpson defeated Northwest Christian 8-4 before dropping the final game of the day to Southern Oregon, 4-1.
The Red Hawks finished the invitational with a 5-1 record and now stand at 11-1 on the season. It is the best start in school history. SU travels to William Jessup on Monday for its first road game of the season.
