High School: Akins played three years of varsity softball at Red Bluff High School. She was a two-time all-section first team selection and was the top academic senior.

Personal: Bailey is the daughter of Ronnie Akins and Bobbi Wellman. Her hobbies include making herself a better person on and off the field.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson to the sport I love and get a degree in psychology."
