VALLEJO, Calif. - The Simpson men's basketball team snapped a three-game losing streak Friday with a 77-72 overtime victory past Claremont McKenna at the Markie Cosca Memorial Tournament on the Cal Maritime campus.
Jacob Kaler led four Red Hawks in double figures with 29 points. Otar Pkhadadze added 14, and
Josh Brakkee and
Josh Delamarter each scored 11. Brakkee's eight rebounds was a team-high. Kaler had a career-high nine steals. Defensively, SU forced 29 turnovers and held CM to 5-21 shooting from behind the three-point line.
The two teams were tied at 64 after regulation. The game was back-and-forth the entire night featuring 14 ties and neither team owning more than a seven-point lead at any point of the contest.
Simpson will play The Master's College on Saturday in the final day of the tournament at 5:30 p.m.
