Coach Steven Brasher is going into his third year as Head Coach of the men’s volleyball team at Simpson University. Brasher has also been the Assistant Coach for the Women's Volleyball team at Simpson University for 4 years.

Prior to his time as a coach at Simpson University, Brasher was a student athlete at Lindenwood-Belleville University playing for the Men’s Volleyball team for two years there, being captain of the team his sophomore year, and studying Kinesiology. In 2019, Brasher transferred to Simpson University, playing for the Men’s Volleyball team, being captain of the team all 3 years, and studying Kinesiology. Brasher graduated with a degree in Kinesiology in 2021 and is working toward finishing his Teaching Credential. 

Coach Brasher grew up in Elk Grove, CA and went to Elk Grove High School.  At Elk Grove High School, he was the starting setter his junior and senior year for the men’s volleyball team, captain of the team his senior year, and was nominated to the All-City team and Optimist all-star team his senior year. Brasher also played club volleyball for Legends Volleyball Club and Northern California Volleyball Club.
 
2019: Brasher appeared in 23 matches and 80 total sets. He averaged 0.25 aces per set for a total of 20 aces and 0.94 digs per set for a total of 75 digs.
 
2020: Brasher appeared in 11 matches and 36 total sets. He averaged 2.47 kills per set for a total of 89 kills and 1.47 digs per set for a total of 53 digs. Brasher received All-Conference Honorable Mention honors as an outside hitter for the Cal Pac Conference.
 
2021: Brasher appeared in 13 matches and 42 total sets. He averaged 2.31 kills per set for a total of 97 kills and 1.88 digs per set for a total of 79 digs.
 

2022: Brasher appeared in 18 matches and 66 total sets. He averaged 3.70 digs per set for a total of 244 digs. Steven ended the season 3rd in the nation in digs per set in the NAIA. Brasher received 1st Team All-Conference honors for the Cal Pac Conference, as well as, winning Defender of the Year for the Cal Pac Conference.

2023: Brasher led the Red Hawks to a 9-10 overall record and 7-5 conference record, finishing 3rd in the Cal Pac Conference. 

2024: Brasher led the Red Hawks to a 5-16 overall record and 3-9 conference record, finishing 5th in the Cal Pac Conference.
