KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - The Simpson golf team competed at Oregon Tech's Fall Invitational at the Running Y Ranch Resort to begin its fall season. 

The Red Hawks men's team placed seventh amongst a playing field of nine other Cascade Conference schools. 

Ethan Phillips led the men's group as he finished +4 with his finest performance coming in the first round, as he finished -2. Brady Wagner followed close behind with a +5 with back-to-back -1 on the first and second round before hitting a bit of trouble in the final round with a +7. 

University of British Columbia took home the win on the men's side as they finished with a total score of 831, as Jake Houston highlighted the team with -15 over three rounds. Houston took home the individual honor as he held off Lewis-Clark State's Lucas Ortega by three strokes. 

On the women's side, the Red Hawks placed 8th with Akira Landes leading the charge with a +20 over three rounds of play. The Thunderbirds continued to roll as they took home first place team honors with a 579 score. However, Isabella Barquet from LC State earned the top individual performance on the women's side as she finished -1 by holding off four other players by one stroke.
