REDDING, Calif. - The women's soccer team opened the 2026 season with a win over Cascade Conference opponent Corban, 1-0.
The difference in the game came off the foot of
Taylor Brooks in the 25th minute on a crossing pass from
Maylania Mikaele.Â
The Red Hawks offense continued to put constant pressure on the Warriors' defense as they outshot Corban 14-6 with eight shots on goal for the game.Â
Simpson's defense proved too much for the Warriors as they allowed just six total shots on the game, with three on goal.Â
Jenna Sosa picked up her first win of the year between the posts as she earned the clean sheet with three saves.Â
The contest saw seven yellow cards handed out between the Red Hawks and Warriors, as Simpson amassed four compared to Corban's three.Â
The Red Hawks are back in action next week, Tuesday as they head north to take on Warner Pacific at 6 pm.Â
