REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks came up short today of their triple header today as they fell to Park-Gilbert in the morning game, 9-1 and dropped back-to-back late games against Arizona Christian, 7-3 and 9-2, to conclude their second day of play in its round robin play. 

Game 1:
The Buccaneers' offense fired on all cylinders as they scored runs in the first five innings of the game. Anna Chavez anchored the Bucs' offensive attack as she belted a solo shot in the third inning and a back-breaking grand slam in the fourth inning to highlight a five-run inning. 

The Red Hawks scattered four hits in the first game as they scratched their lone run of the game in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single by Jordan Adami. 

Park's starter, Yazmine Bernal, displayed dominance in the circle as she fired the 5.0 inning mercy rule victory while allowing six total baserunners. 

Simpson's Lily Rojas suffered the loss as she worked 3.1 innings of work while allowing nine runs before handing the ball to Nadia Stroh. 

Game 2: 
The Red Hawks battled Arizona Christian in its second game of the day, as they fell behind early as the Firestorm plated five runs over the first two innings. 

Simpson plated two runs in the bottom of the second inning to pull within three as a leadoff single by Nayzeth Gonzalez came around to score on an RBI double by Rebekah Millan. A sacrifice bunt by Madison Guzman set up an RBI single by Jessica Heck before an inning-ending double-play derailed the Simpson rally. 

From that point on, the Firestorm starter Kailee Pearson and Red Hawks reliever Isabella Contreras settled in as they exchanged zeroes over the next three innings. 

Arizona Christian added one in the sixth and seventh innings on an RBI single by Avery Slater and a solo blast by Christina Grubb. 

Simpson's final run came in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI groundout by Millan as they fell 7-3. 

Gonzalez paced the Simpson offense with a three-for-three game while Millan went one-for-three with an RBI. 

Game 3: 
Simpson returned to action against Arizona Christian to conclude its second day in the final game of the day. 

Arizona Christian got off to a fast start as they plated three runs in the top of the first inning, taking advantage of two of Red Hawk' miscues. 

Back-to-back two-out singles by Adriana Delaney and Mariah Rosales pushed across the Red Hawks' first run of the game as they took advantage of a Firestorm passed ball. 

A bases-clearing triple by Grubb in the fourth inning and a two-run double by Dayna Herrera in the seventh inning gave the Firestorm the commanding 9-1 lead. 

Simpson's last gasp came in the bottom of the seventh inning as Angela Taylor Ortiz posted an RBI single into left field before the Firestorm closed out the 9-2 victory. 

The Red Hawks offense scattered seven hits while Delaney anchored the bats with a four-for-four game with one RBI. 

Simpson looks to bounce back tomorrow as they take on Park at 10 am and Westcliff at 2 pm to conclude its round robin.
