GLENDALE, Ariz. - Simpson's beach volleyball fell to #5 in the nation, Arizona Christian, in four sets this afternoon in Glendale, AZ.
The Red Hawks drew first blood in the first set of the match as Simpson's
Kimora McKechnie and
Brooklyn Jimenez took down Arizona Christians Emee Fellens and Emily Casner in straight sets, 21-18, both sets.
Simpson came up short in the following match as
Tiara Manns and
Emilly Melo fell 21-14 and 21-19 to allow the Firestorm to tie the team score.
The final match proved to be a nail-biter, but Arizona Christians' Kapri Espinosa and Ashlynn Craven edged Simpson's
Kiersti Howell and
Alexia Andaya 21-19 and 21-17.
The Firestorm proved why they are one of the best in the nation as they did not lose a set after dropping the opening match to take the four-set victory over the Red Hawks.
Simpson continues play tomorrow as they take on Vanguard and Ottawa to conclude their Arizona road trip.
