ASHLAND, Ore. - The men's soccer team traveled north today as they took on (RV) Southern Oregon University.
The Red Hawks came into the game looking for their first win of the young season as they took on a red-hot Southern Oregon squad that has won three out of its first four games to begin the year.
The Raiders struck fast and early as they grabbed the 2-0 lead with goals in the 14th and 16th minutes of play.
Southern Oregon went into the half with a commanding 4-0 lead as they added goals in the 26th and 41st minutes.
This proved to be enough for the Raiders as they held onto their third shutout victory of the year, 7-0.
The Raiders had a dominating display as they shot 40 times with 19 shots on goal.
Jacopo Trolese notched 12 saves but suffered his fourth loss of the year as Alan Gonzales picked up the only shot on goal for the Red Hawks.
Simpson looks to be back in action this weekend as they take on Jessup University at noon on Saturday.
