EUGENE, Oe. - Simpson traveled north to take on Bushnell University today as they dropped a 1-0 nail-biter.

Jacopo Trolese got tested early as the Beacons took the first shot in the opening minutes, and Trolese picked up his first save of the day.Â
The Beacons' defense held the Simpson attackers at bay as they outshot Simpson 6-0 in the first half. Trolese held his ground as he posted three saves to preserve the clean sheet.Â
Simpson's first shot of the day came off the foot of Jorge Saldana in the opening minutes of the second half.Â
However, the Beacons drew first blood in the 49th minute as they took the 1-0 lead. Simpson collected three shots in the final 15 minutes but could not find the back of the net.Â
The Red Hawks outshot the Beacons in the second half 6-4, but could not push through the equalizer.Â
The tightly played match saw a total of six shots on goal between the two teams and six cards handed out.Â
Simpson looks to bounce back as they take on Corban on Saturday at 10 am.Â
