REDDING, California. - The annual California Pacific Conference end-of-the-year awards were announced earlier tonight.
Eight different Red Hawks earned accolades with six being All-Conference selections and four being All-Academic recipients.Â
Junior right-hander,
Gage Hoyle earned an All-Conference selection on the mound as well as the Pitcher of the Year award.Â
He had a spectacular season on the mound as he went 4-0 with a 3.96 ERA as he held opponents to a .215 batting average in conference play. He currently is 7-1 on the year and broke the program record for most wins in a single season.Â
Senior reliever,
Logan Boenker earned an All-Conferene selection as he proved to be a big part of Simpson's bullpen. He proved to be lethal late in ball games and lights-out all year.Â
Boenker amassed eight appearances in conference while holding opponents to a .222 batting average as he led the team with six saves on the year.Â
Senior first baseman
Dominic Folks earned an All-Conference selection as he slashed .357 BA/.446 SLG%/.422 OB% to go along with a team-high 97 putouts in conference play.Â
Graduate backstop,
Jaxon Hotta earned an All-Conference selection as he slashed an astounding .417 BA/.625 SLG%/.453 OB%/1.078 OPS while handling the Red Hawks pitching staff. On defense, he tallied the second most putouts (80) while throwing out five base runners at a 55% success rate.
Junior infielder
Cayden Lee made an immediate impact in his first year in a Red Hawks jersey as he provided a big bat in the middle of the Red Hawks lineup.Â
He led the team with 24 RBIs and four home runs in conference play while being tied for first with 26 hits.Â
Senior centerfielder
Dylan Leek earned an All-Conference selection along with the Defender of the Year award.Â
He had a big year as the Red Hawks leadoff man as he slashed .351 BA/.581 SLG%/.435 OB% while sharing a tie for the team lead with 26 hits.Â
On defense, he remained perfect in conference as he posted 54 putouts in 54 chances and notched a 1.000 FLD%.Â
For the second year in a row, the Red Hawks developed the Cal Pac Freshman of the Year.
Isaiah Alcala earned the prestigious honor as he proved to be lethal on the bases as he picked up a team-high 15 stolen bags.Â
Boenker earned the Cal Pac Champions of Character award for his professional display on the field.Â
Chase Rossman, Folks, Hotta, and Leek earned a spot on the All-Academic team for their hard work in the classroom.Â
Coach Tating earned the Cal Pac Coach of the Year award as he guided the Red Hawks to its first-ever Cal Pac title as they finished 13-5 in conference play.Â
Boenker earned the Cal Pac Champions of Character award for his professional character on the field.Â
