ATHERTON, Calif. - The men's wrestling squad traveled to the Bay Area to compete in a dual match against DII opponent, Menlo College on its senior night on Friday.
The Oaks dominated the contests as they notched the clean sweep to take the 52-0 victory.
However, the Red Hawks competed tough in back-to-back matches in the 149 lb. and the 157 lb. class as they narrowly fell to the Oaks.
Senior
Tyler Diaz, who is having a strong season competed tough but fell short in an 8-7 decision in a closely fought duel.
Tomas Jacobo competed in the 157 lb. match in a low-scoring match that saw Jacobo fall in a tight 7-5 decision.
Menlo, who is usually a premiere wrestling program that solidified the strong Cascade Conference is now a DII member in the NCWA West Coast Conference.
The Red Hawks look to hit the road one more time as they head to Fresno State this Saturday to prepare for the Cascade Conference Championships on Feb. 21st-22nd.
