SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - the men's volleyball team continued its SoCal road trip tonight as they took on #1 in the nation, The Masters University.

Kobe Valdez put Simpson on the board but the Mustangs grabbed the early 7-1 lead.
Kills by
Carlos Messer and Valdez pulled Simpson within five as they faced a 20-15 deficit.
However, the Mustangs closed out the 25-17 first-set victory as they took the 1-0 match lead.
The Mustangs kept the momentum rolling in set two as they jumped out to the early 6-0 lead before a kill by
Kaleb Cui got Simpson on the board.
The Mustangs rolled to a dominant 25-11 second set victory to take the commanding 2-0 match lead.
Simpson looked to bounce back in the third set as two straight service errors by the Mustangs followed by a kill by
Francis Gates pulled Simpson within one, 4-3.
The Mustangs went on a 5-1 run to take the 10-5 lead as a kill by Valdez pulled Simpson back within five, 12-7.
But the Mustangs never looked back as they closed out the 25-12 set three victory to take the match in straight sets.
Simpson looks to conclude its SoCal road trip tomorrow as they take on Vanguard at 7 pm to round out its preseason action.
