Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Sam Nakata

Simpson's season comes to a close in the Cal Pac Championship game

Falls to #25 Westcliff 4-0

SANTA ANA, Calif. - The women's soccer team's season came to a close today as they fell to #25 Westcliff in the Cal Pac Championship game 4-0.

The Warriors drew first blood in the 23rd minute on a case of friendly fire as the Red Hawks found their own goal off a shot by the Warriors.

But the Warriors added an insurance goal a few minutes later as they converted on a corner kick to extend their lead.

Westcliff put constant pressure on goalkeeper Iris Van Dalfsen as they outshot Simpson 17-2 in the first half.

It proved to be the same story to begin the second half as the Warriors found the back of the net in the 51st and the 57th minute to take the commanding 4-0 lead.

The Red Hawks nearly got on the board in the 54th minute as a shot by Claire Brown hit the post.

Simpson could not overcome the deficit as they fell to the Warriors to wrap up their 2025 season, barring an at-large bid.

The Red Hawks conclude their deepest postseason run under Head Coach Milton Carrera, as they reached the Conference Championship game for the first time under his leadership.

With the loss, Simpson says goodbye to Chloe Tague, Sophee McKenzie, Litsy Munoz, Iris Van Dalfsen, Serena Rodriguez, Rachel Sequiera, Amanda Simpson, and Yesnia Sànchez.

Simpson looks to head into the offseason as they retool and get ready for the upcoming 2026 season.
