LANCASTER, Calif. - Simpson opened up its 2023 conference schedule on the road against Cal Pac rival University of Antelope Valley.
The Red Hawks dominated the Pioneers as they went on to win by the score of 3-0.
The Red Hawk attackers constantly ambushed the Pioneer defense as they outshot UAV 27-5. However, a scoreless first half between the two teams set the stage for a thrilling second half.
Simpson drew first blood in the 77th minute when sophomore
Chloe Tague found the back of the net off an assist by
Paola Montoya.
Tague struck again in the 81st minute to complete the brace and put the Red Hawks up 2-0.
The final minutes of the game left way for junior Forward,
Monserrath Bedolla-Guzman to find her first goal of the season.
Tague had quite the game as she recorded an assist and her team-leading third and fourth goal of the season.

Kiah Gridley played a flawless game in the post as she earned her first conference win and clean sheet of the 2023 season.
The Red Hawks will stay down in SoCal to take on Cal Pac opponent La Sierra on Sunday at 9:30 AM.
