Box Score REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson University men's soccer team continued conference play as they returned home to take on Cal State University Maritime.
The Red Hawks blanked the Keelhaulers as they went on to win by the score of 3-0.
Simpson jumped on the board first when Junior midfielder
Gio De La Torre cleaned up a shot that was bouncing around in the box. This was Torre's third goal of the year and his third in the past three games.
Simpson struck again in the 24th minute in a similar fashion when a corner kick by
Alvaro Zarpellon bounced around in the box before being cleaned up by
Miciah Kirton for his first goal of the year.
The Red Hawks closed out the first half strong as they scored a third insurance goal by
Michel Hampe on a corner kick by Zarpellon.
Goalkeeper
Daniel Morales earned the win but with the help of
Andrea Ferri the duo was able to preserve the clean sheet on the afternoon.
The Red Hawks will be back in action at home this Sunday at 2:30 PM as they take on Westcliff University.
