Red Hawks Take Down the Pioneers in Game 1. Set to Play ERAU Next

PRESCOTT, Ariz. - The Red Hawks opened up game one of the Cal Pac tournament with a victory over the University of Antelope Valley Pioneers. The bats came alive in game one as the Red Hawk's tallied 12 runs on 17 hits, defeating the Pioneers by a score of 12-4. 

 

Starting pitcher, Jessica Ulshoeffer picked up her sixth win of the season as she tossed a complete game while allowing just one earned run. The SU bats came out firing as they tied a season high 17 hits. All-Conference Honorable Mention, Nicolena Holen had quite the day as she played the table setter at the top of the Red Hawks lineup. Holen picked up three hits and reached base safely in all five of her plate appearances as she went on to score a team high four runs. Newcomer of the Year, Isabella Munoz and All-Conference Outfielder, Aubrey Zamora combined for five hits and four runs scored. Ashley Miller was a key run producer for the Red Hawks as she drove in five runs on two hits. Also, Chloe Garcia added three hits of her own while driving in two runs, followed by a two hit performance by Kassandra Soria.  

 

The Red Hawks had a big 6th inning that resulted in 6 runs on 8 hits and one error by the Pioneers. The inning included two big two run triples by Aubrey Zamora and Ashley Miller. Chloe Garcia added an RBI single in the frame as well to go along with the Red Hawks big 6th inning.
