PRESCOTT, Ariz. - The Eagles showed why they were the number one seed of the tournament as they were able to cool SU's bats and go on to win by a score of 6-2.
The Eagles pitching performance was able to stiffen the Simpson's bats after putting up 12 runs on 17 hits in game 1 against the Pioneers. Starter, Jessica Ulshoeffer was called on to throw her second game of the day. Although, Ulshoeffer was credited with the loss, she threw 6 complete innings while allowing 5 earned runs as she gave her team a chance to win. The bats were able to scratch across two runs on four hits. The two extra base hits belonged to Nicolena Holen and Aubrey Zamora. Holen was credited with an RBI double and Zamora hit an inside the park homerun. Isabella Munoz and Kassandra Soria rounded out the offense by each collecting a single.
With the loss, the Red Hawks look to bounce back tomorrow as they face the winner of the later game of Park-Gilbert and Westcliff tomorrow at 10 AM.
