Two Baseball Players Earn Cal Pac Honors

REDDING, Calif. - On Tuesday, May 2nd, two Simpson baseball players were recognized for their hard work on the field at the annual Cal Pac banquet in Prescott, Arizona this year.

Junior,  Max Lopez had an impressive first season as a Red Hawk as he was named an All-Conference Utility selection. Lopez made an immediate impact in the box and on the field as a two-way player. Lopez was a Swiss army knife as he appeared in games as a pitcher, designated hitter, third baseman, and first baseman. In the box, Lopez hit .318 with 34 hits and three bombs. On the mound, Lopez was equally as effective as he posted a 3.14 ERA with two saves as he held opponents to a .173 BA Avg.

Graduate student, Logan Gomes had quite the year as he earned an All-Conference Honorable Mention. Gomes, who is primarily penciled in as the designated hitter played left field sparingly. But he is best known for bringing the thump to the Red Hawk lineup, Gomes shattered the school's career and season homerun record by going on to hit 12 this season to put his career total at 25. Gomes led the team in OPS (1.109), SLG% (.692), homeruns (12), and RBIs (41).
