Women's Basketball Lights it Up on Senior Night vs. Westcliff

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson did not let the opportunity slip to give their home crowd a show in their final home game beating Westcliff 89-61.

 

The seniors honored on Senior Night were Sandra Berrocal, Tymiko Patterson,  Ariadna Rubio, and graduate student Livi Lindsey.

Sandra Berrocal played with confidence in her eye, dropping 18 points and snatching 6 defensive rebounds. She finished the game going 7-for-16 from the field and hitting one three-pointer. 

 

Celina Tress led the Red Hawks with 26 points. Tress played a physical game bullying defenders when she got into the paint and hitting 11-for-18 from the field.

 

 Livi Lindsey was 8-for-10 from the field, with 6 rebounds and one steal. Her steal resulted in a foot race to the rim where she put up a successful layup. 

 

Simpson capped the night with a 30-plus point win to give the senior Red Hawks a night to remember with their teammates at their last home.

 

The Red Hawks will now go on the road for their final three regular-season games of the season. They currently qualify for the Cal Pac Tournament with a 14-3 conference record. 

 

SU looks to get redemption against Antelope Valley, as the two top teams battle it out on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 5:30 p.m.
