REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's volleyball pulled off a 3-set sweep of UC Merced tonight, 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.
The win over the Bobcats, who are currently receiving votes in the NAIA National Poll, comes following a loss to Merced just over a week ago on February 17th.
Flavio Mercado led the Red Hawks in the kill column with 12 followed by
Nathan Richards with eight. Mercado also tallied two aces and two assists. The leader in assists for SU was once again, Nikos Kalagisidis recording 31.Â
Nathan Richards led the Red Hawks in blocks with 4.0 on the night and
Christian Murry was the leader in digs with eight.
With the victory, Simpson gets back to .500 on the season but is 3-1 so far in conference with a huge match coming up next.
The Red Hawks will face 3rd ranked Benedictine Friday, March 3rd on the road with first serve at 6:00 PM PST.
