MESA-GILBERT, Ariz. - Men's Volleyball took one-of-two on their road trip to Arizona, falling to third-ranked Benedictine and defeating Park-Gilbert in a three-set sweep.
Simpson faced a tall task facing the third-ranked Ben U team. The Red Hawks lost in three sets 25-9, 25-20, and 25-15.
SU's kill leaders in the game were
Flavio Mercado, Christian Murray, and James Jean-Jacques combining 15 kills.
Nikos Kalagasidis led the Red Hawks with 13 assists in the game.
The Red Hawks regrouped when they traveled to Gilbert. After a back-and-forth first set, Simpson finished off Park-Gilbert, sweeping the match 34-32, 25-14, and 25-18.
Simpson totaled 29 kills as
Flavio Mercado led the team with 13.
Nikos Kalagasidis set his team up with 32 assists in Saturday's win.
Jacob Saechao picked up 12 digs against Park along with
Jean-Jacques James on defense with seven blocks.
The Red Hawks face Dordt University Monday, March 6th, at 6 p.m. in the James M. Grant Center.
