LANCASTER, Calif. - The women's volleyball team dropped its final game of its SoCal road trip to University of Antelope Valley, 3-1. 

Simpson took the first set by the score of 25-19 as they grabbed the early 1-0 advantage over the Pioneers. 

However, the Pioneers stormed back and grabbed set two by the score of 25-22 on a late comeback. 

Simpson held a 22-19 advantage but were stumped by a 6-0 Pioneer run. 

Set three was another thriller as the Pioneers and Red Hawks tussled back and forth.

The Pioneers were able to hold off Simpson's late rally to secure set three by the score of 25-23. 

UAV carried the momentum into set four as they grabbed an early 9-3 advantage. But the gritty Red Hawks chipped away as they tied the score at 23. 

Simpson forced the set to go past the standard 25 points but fell in a high scorer 29-27. 

Junior Katie Graham had a nice game in the middle as she registered 10 kills and one solo block to go along with a .429 hitting percentage on the night. 

Madison Kammuller led the way on defense with a team-high 17 digs. 

Kayla Somontan had a team-high 37 assists with two service aces to go along with 15 digs on the game. 

With the loss, the Simpson is currently in the sixth and final playoff spot as they lead Westcliff by 0.5 a game. 

The Red Hawks face an important homestead that will determine its playoff fate as they take on the three Arizona teams this upcoming weekend. 

Simpson will take on Benedictine first on Thursday at 6 PM.
