Men's Basketball Loses to Antelope Valley, Snapping Two-Game Win Streak

REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks cannot capitalize after playing a close first half, losing to Antelope Valley 89-73.

 

SU was in a tight game in the first half, trailing 33-32 by the end of the half. 

 

Drey Ubas scored 23 points for the Red Hawks, shooting 9-for-12 from the free throw line, 6-for-12 from the field, and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc. Shamar Moore scored 12 points off the bench. He was perfect from the free throw line going 3-for-3 and made 4 field goals. Javonntie Jackson and Daylon Potts both secured 9 rebounds a piece.

 

After keeping it competitive in the first half, Simpson was unable to catch up to Antelope Valley – whose offense turned into another gear in the second half.

 

The Red Hawks were in for a tough matchup against Antelope Valley who is at the top of the standings in the Cal Pac with only one loss on the year. 

 

Simpson looks to get back on track by facing UC Merced at home on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 pm.
