Women's Basketball Comes from Behind to Beat La Sierra

Box Score REDDING, Calif. - After going down by 13 points at the half, the Red Hawks played a great fourth quarter to complete their comeback 67-60.

The Red Hawks started out slow, allowing La Sierra to put up big numbers early in the game. After making adjustments at the half, SU was able to pull off the 13-point comeback, winning their 7th Cal Pac game and improving to 7-1.

The fourth quarter is where Simpson made crucial stops on defense and secured multiple steals, slowing down the hot La Sierra offense.

Celina Tress tied the game at 57-all with a contested layup. Later in the fourth quarter, it would be a free throw frenzy for the Red Hawks. After being fouled several times, Tress and Patterson would be successful with multiple shots at the free throw line and going up by seven with less than 20 seconds left in regulation.

This comeback shows the resiliency of the Red Hawks and their ability to win in more than one way and continues to show why SU remains atop the conference standings.

SU will play Antelope Valley at home this Saturday at 5:30 pm.
