REDDING, Calif. - Simpson U softball opened up conference play this past weekend sweeping Benedictine in four games only allowing nine runs in the four games.
The Red Hawks pitching was phenomenal on day one shutting out BenU in both games as
Sunshine Wehunt threw six shutout innings and
Kylee Potes threw five shutout innings. Wehunt and Potes each recorded the win in their respective games.
SU's dominance on offense was on display as well throughout the weekend as the Red Hawks scored 39 runs in the series.
Amy LeGrande had six plate appearances and tallied six hits, scoring three runs and driving in three RBIs.
Chloe Garcia did the most damage at the plate knocking in ten runs going five for nine scoring six runs herself and receiving Cal Pac Player of the Week honors.Â
Simpson will head to Arizona this weekend to continue conference play as they face Embry-Riddle in a four-game series beginning Saturday at 11 AM in Prescott, Arizona.
