REDDING, Calif. - Over the weekend, the Simpson Softball Team traveled to Prescott, Arizona and played four games against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical.
The Lady Red Hawks started the weekend off strong beating the Eagles in the first game, 3-1.
Aubrey Zamora and
Meridian Enriquez led their team offensively, having two hits a piece. SU's Catcher
Chloe Garcia would finish with two RBI's, while
Akela Holder would finish with one RBI.
Sunshine Wehunt shined on the mound and pitched a career high of seven innings in game one against Embry-Riddle. Wehunt's performance on the mound, combined with the Red Hawks out-batting Embry-Riddle, led to the Eagles defeat.
In Game two, Simpson would just fall to Embry-Riddle, 0-1, despite having five hits compared to their four.
On Sunday the 13th, the Lady Red Hawks would fall to the Lady Eagles in both games of Sunday's doubleheader. After these two tough road losses, the Simpson Softball Team is eager to get back on their home field.
They will face the La Sierra Golden Eagles on Thursday March 17th at 1 and 3 PM, and Friday at 11 AM and 1 PM.
