PASADENA & IRVINE, Calif. - On Friday September 30th, Simpson Men's Soccer started the weekend off strong; scoring six goals and holding Providence Christian to just one. Simpson would then go on to play Westcliff on Sunday, October 2nd and would fall three to nothing.
Against Providence, Simpson had their foot on the gas all game and would score three goals in the first half and another three in the second. SU would come out hot in the first two minutes of the game, and
Diego Alvarez would start the Red Hawks off with their first score. This would definitely be a team win as five other individuals would each score a goal as well.
Christian Guevara,
Austin Miller, Jaime Guiterrez, Erick Martinez,
Adrian Madrigal, and
James Neverov would all score goals for the Red Hawks, while
Gio De La Torre would have one assist.
On Sunday against Embry-Riddle, the Red Hawks defense stood strong and wouldn't allow the Warrirors to score until almost 40 minutes of play. Simpson goalie
Daniel Morales would also have an impressive five saves on the day as Westcliff didn't let up all game.
The Red Hawks now sit at 4th place in the conference standings and will face University of Antelope Valley on Saturday at 7:30 PM at the Redding Soccer Park.
