REDDING, Calif. - The highly coveted Simpson men's basketball season gets underway Friday night in the James M. Grant Center as the Red Hawks face Lincoln University.

SU is coming off one of the best seasons in recent history and will have a tough task ahead facing a team coached by Hall-of-Fame point guard Gary Payton.

However, the Red Hawks will once again bring some top talent onto the hardwood including Gary Mims who received NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors a season ago as well as Conference Player of the Year.

The matchup against Lincoln University is the first time these two teams have ever played after last season's game was postponed.

Head Coach Todd Franklin gears up for another big season ahead with Red Hawks having a target on their backs after a monster year in 2021-22.

It all starts Friday night in the Grant Center with tip-off set for 6 PM.
