BILLINGS, Mont. - The Red Hawks' historic season came to a close tonight as they fell against No. 7 in the nation, Rocky Mountain College, in the Opening Round of the NAIA tournament.
The Red Hawks jumped on the board first as
Aidan Rolfs connected from beyond the arc. However, an early 16-3 run by the Battlin' Bears propelled Rocky Mountain to the 10 point lead to begin the game. The Battlin' Bears claimed the lead and never looked back as they had the Red Hawks playing catch-up for the rest of the game.
Rocky Mountain went into the half with a 58-32 lead as
Dylan Harms led the Red Hawks with 11 points as he shot 3-4 from beyond the arc.
The deficit proved too much for the Red Hawks as they could not overcome the 26-point deficit, as they fell 94-59 with the Battlin' Bears outscoring Simpson 36-27 in the second half.
Timothy Parker led the Red Hawks with 14 points, while
Jack Jillson and Harms each finished with 11 points as Jillson led the team with seven rebounds.
With the loss, Simpson says goodbye to 2025-26 Cal Pac Newcomer of the Year
Nian Allen, 2025-26 Cal Pac Defender of the Year
Aidan Rolfs,
Albin Atovic, and
Drew Nelson.
Simpson looks to build off of its most successful season in recent memory under Cal Pac Coach of the Year, Coach
David Cone, for a successful 2026-27 season.
