REDDING, Calif. - Simpson U baseball hosted Oregon Tech for the Red Hawks' home opener this weekend. The Hustlin' Owls took games one, three and four, but the Red Hawks avoided the series sweep with a big comeback victory in game two.
OIT led 10-0 heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, but Simpson never gave up. SU would score a run in the 6th, six runs in the 7th, and four runs in the 8th inning to take the lead and shock the Owls.
Micah Kele and
Jackson Grigsby each tallied three hits in the victory as Simpson as a team recorded 16 hits in game two.
Reliever,
Jackson Bennett came out of the bullpen in the 8th inning and shut the door on the Owls recording the five-out win for SU.
The Red Hawks non-conference schedule continues as SU hosts Bushnell University for a four-game series beginning this Friday, February 4th at 11 am at Tiger Field.
