REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University baseball finished the 2021 season after qualifying for the Cal Pac Championship tournament for the first time in over 10 years.
The Red Hawks last three seasons have had a dramatic uptick in win totals, especially last year when Simpson was off to the program's best start in history before the pandemic hit in March.
Despite losing many key players after 2020, the Red Hawks remained competitive and fought for a conference title.
"In a season filled with uncertainty, I'm proud of the way this team showed resilience and the ability to handle adversity," head coach
Dan Tating says. "We are excited to build off of the last two seasons, and expect to compete for a conference title in 2022."
Alongside the performance on the field, Simpson's on-campus baseball field continues to make progress. Now with batting cages, a backstop, and an outfield fence, the Simpson Baseball Field has been used the past season for practice.
For now, Simpson will remain using Tiger Field as its home field.
