SANTA CLARITA, Calif. - The Simpson baseball team dropped the doubleheader against The Master's University yesterday to conclude play in SoCal, 9-3 and 3-2.
Simpson drew first blood in the top of the third inning on an RBI single by
Cayden Lee. But the Mustangs avoided further damage as left fielder Ty Beck cut down Lee at the plate.
Starter
Daniel Aceto surrendered his first runs of the game after 5.0 shutout innings as a Simpson error helped spark a Mustangs rally as they plated two runs to take the 2-1 lead.
The Master's busted it open in the bottom of the seventh inning as they plated seven runs on six hits while sending 13 batters to the plate.

Mario Catalan came around to score on an RBI single by
Owen Hayes and a sacrifice fly by
Bo Valladao in Simpson's last gasp.
A one-two-three ninth sealed the first game victory for The Masters as they took the 9-3 game one victory.

Daniel Aceto took the loss as he fired 5.2 innings of two-run ball while allowing just one earned run and scattering seven hits.

Owen Hayes led the Simpson bats with two-hit performances as they combined for two RBIs.

A low-scoring battle saw the Red Hawks jump on the scoreboard first as a leadoff walk to Adem Munoz to begin the game came around to score on an RBI double by
