REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University softball wasted no time in redeeming themselves after a two-game sweep on Friday against SOU as the Red Hawks punished 23rd ranked Corban University 10-1, 8-1.
In game one, Simpson starter
Kylee Potes dominated giving up just two hits and one unearned run fanning four Warriors' batters.
Meridian Enriquez went 3-3 at the dish with a run scored and one RBI. Shortstop,
Cailey Rizzardo delivered a crucial 2-RBI double in the bottom of the first inning and later added another RBI in a 1-3 effort at the plate.
In game two,
Sydney Moorhead found her groove delivering seven innings of one-run ball, striking out nine in her first victory of the season. Simpson's bats stayed hot in game two
Cailey Rizzardo and
Meridian Enriquez shined again combining for five hits, three RBIs, and three runs scored.
The Red Hawks even their season record at 2-2 and will look to build on it as they continue their four-game series with Corban University on Sunday at 11:00 am at the Simpson Softball Field.
